Abstract :

The purpose of this paper is to try to describe the expression of imperative sentences in khmer. We distinguish between four different types of sentences:
V-ø: the simplest form, implies a command without taking into consideration the position the interlocutors have on it.
V-dau: implies that the imperative sentence is depending on a presupposition.
V-cuḥ: implies that both the interlocutors agree on the terms of the sentence. The sequence cūr-V is the phonetic mark of an imperative sentence but does not interfere in the intersubjective positions of the interlocutors.
