Abstract :
In none of the works of those who have written on the Gospel of Barnabas has there been any suggestion that Samaritans would have contributed to that work. Laurence Ragg in his fundamental edition and translation of the Italian original MS, while dismissing any connection with the prohibited Gospel of the Galesian Decree, mentions en passant as possible a lost Gnostic Christian Gospel's influence, but he himself would date the work as not earlier than 1300 AD. He even suggests tha tFra Martino, who discovered the Gospel of Barnabas could be its author, though he does not insist on this.
