Abstract :
A large residential building measuring more than 1850 m2 has been excavated at Hatra by the Italian expedition to the north of the temenos, along the road from its north gate to the northern gate of the city itself. This house is set around a courtyard. There is a wide iwan S 7 opening to the west with a square room S 6 beside it, and a rectangular room S 8 behind, in keeping with a pattern often observed in Hatra’s domestic architecture.
