Author(s): JENNINGS, Sarah , ABDALLAH, Joanna
Journal: ARAM Periodical
Volume: 13 Date: 2001-2002
The whole glass assemblage from the three Souks excavations, that ranges in date from the 3rd century BCE to the 16th century CE, has, despite its fragmentary nature, enabled an extensive typology to be established for the glass vessels in use in Beirut during this time. The article briefly covers just the blown glass from the 1st century through the 15th century CE, and discusses imported blown glass vessels, Syro-Palestinian glass, Late Roman and Early Byzantine glass, and Islamic glass.
