Abstract :
Site Bey 020 is important for showing a stratigraphical sequence which covers all the Iron Age. As a consequence, this site offers the possibility of observing the evolution of the different local pottery shapes and types, as well as the chrono-stratigraphical connections between them and with other cultural areas through imports present along its sequence. The aim of the article is to show some aspects of the exchange relationships existing in Iron Age Beirut, taking the ceramic evidence recovered on this site as a starting point. These aspects are centred basically on the demand from the city and the way it was satisfied, focusing specially on luxury items, both Phoenician or imported from outside Phoenicia.
