Abstract :
Alongside engagement with the natural sciences, engagement with the world religions must surely rank high on the agendas of Christian theologians interested in the influence culture exercises over theological reflection. No less than the profound discoveries of late twentieth-century cosmology and, in recent news, the mapping of the human genome, the globalization of the world has unleashed a chain of technological, social and religious effects the meaning of which theologians are only beginning to grasp.
