This essay starts with a survey of the research about the use of synkrisis in John, then it goes on with a comparison between John 5 and John 9 and its characters. It concludes with an explanation of how synkrisis functions in this instance. By means of this technique the author wants to show the reader how to become, and how not to become, a disciple of Jesus, in order that the reader can take a courageous decision for Christ. |
