Après avoir rapidement survolé les positions de l’auteur selon lesquelles la science correspond fondamentalement à une connaissance par objet et par concept destinée à produire une représentation, l’article s’emploie à concevoir la sociologie, voire les sciences sociales comme l’anthropologie, à la lumière de cette caractérisation. Le rôle du langage, de la langue ordinaire, est considéré de près afin que la sociologie puisse satisfaire aux contraintes relatives à l’opposition forme à contenu que suscite notamment la science comme mode de connaissance. The aim of this article is to consider sociology as a science in the light of the qualifications in characterising it introduced by the philosopher of science Gilles-Gaston Granger. Having rapidly surveyed his standpoints according to which science corresponds fundamentally to knowledge based on an object and a concept destined to produce a representation, the article seeks to view sociology, even social sciences such as anthropology, in the light of this characterisation. The rôle of ordinary language, is examined closely so that sociology can satisfy the restraints related to the opposition of form to content brought about notably by science as a mode of knowledge. |
