The present article offers a critical edition of, along with an introduction to, an anonymously transmitted commentary on this medieval translation that is convincingly attributed to Buckfield by modern scholarship. In a brief analysis of the edited text, attention is paid to the stylistic features of the commentary and to its relationship not only with the translatio vetus but also with Averroes’s Compendium and a thirteenth-century anonymous compendium preserved in MS Oxford, Bodleian Library, Tanner 116. |
