L’altercation qui s’ensuit à ce propos entre Jésus et le chef de synagogue ne met pas seulement en évidence deux façons inconciliables d’interpréter le précepte du sabbat qui est au coeur du coeur de la Loi, le décalogue; il met aussi en lumière comment elles engendrent deux attitudes «spirituelles» opposées qui déterminent à leur tour deux façons contrastées d’exercer l’autorité «pastorale». Celle du chef de synagogue peut être qualifiée de «cléricalisme» avant la lettre. This article proposes a close reading of Lk 13:10-17, the healing of the crippled woman. The altercation between Jesus and the ruler of the synagogue about this miracle not only highlights two irreconcilable ways of interpreting the Sabbath precept which is at the heart of the heart of the Law, the Decalogue; it also highlights how they generate two opposing «spiritual» attitudes which in turn determine two contrasting ways of exercising «pastoral» authority. The attitude of the ruler of the synagogue can be described as «clericalism» avant la lettre. |
