Abstract :
The Gezer Calendar is a school exercise adapted from cuneiform lexical tradition. A parallel for such adaptation of the cuneiform school tradition is known among the Amarna Scholarly Tablets, and a fragmentary cuneiform text from Ashkelon shows that this very lexical tradition was known in Canaan at the end of the Late Bronze Age.
