Pour saisir leur portée, la présente étude les examine dans leur contexte littéraire et en portant une attention particulière au vocabulaire utilisé. Car un certain nombre de termes, à connotation violente, introduisent en surimpression aux considérations sur la fugacité humaine une dimension de jugement et de sanction. Une hypothèse diachronique est alors proposée, qui jauge la pertinence de la classification de ce texte comme psaume sapientiel. Ps 39 contains a reflection on the brevity of life. But the verses which introduce this dimension interrupt curiously a lamentation which, without that, would go from a description of the state of affliction of the psalmist to a plea to be freed and answered. To assess their significance, the present study examines them in their literary context and by paying particular attention to the used vocabulary. Because a number of terms, with violent connotations, superimpose on the considerations on human transience a dimension of divine judgment and punishment. A diachronic hypothesis is then proposed, which sizes the relevance of the classification of this text as a wisdom psalm. |
