Abstract :

This paper is intended to underline, on the one hand, the concepts of unity and differentiation within the eastern Phoenician world and, on the other hand, to highlight some aspects of continuity and innovation showed, with respect to the motherland, by the regions affected by the Phoenician expansion in the Mediterranean. As for the latter, then, the study will aim to mark the strong characters of diversification in the various regions, largely due to the action of both substrates and adstrates with which the Phoenicians of the diaspora interacted.
