Some of these changes can be associated with new developments in the scale and organization of agricultural production. In this paper, we aim to investigate the connection between agricultural production and social organisation by focusing on grape and olive cultivation. Archaeological and archaeobotanical datasets are integrated to investigate whether and how changes in food production and consumption relate to changes in the social organisation of ancient communities. |
