Abstract :
Among the Coptic fragments preserved at the Ifao in Cairo there is a parchment sheet (Inv. No. 51) belonging to a florilegium. This fragment deals with the last times of the Alexandrian Serapeum and contains what seems to be an imperial letter reported by clerics. The letter gives order to close the temple because of troubles that pagan cults bring about within the city. This paper attempts to set forth the text and to replace it in its codicological context, before trying to understand its originality or its dependence regarding the Coptic tradition which it belongs to.
