Ces derniers sont des parcours initiatiques marqués par la formation du héros sous l’action conjuguée de ses maîtres masculins mais aussi des figures féminines qui le croisent ou l’accompagnent, et sans lesquelles son accomplissement d’homme et de croyant ne saurait se produire. Un second acteur façonnant le personnage du héros demeure sans conteste l’artiste (peintre, poète, musicien), métaphore du pouvoir des arts sur le destin des hommes. The five tales of Niẓāmī were illustrated at the end of the 14th century. The choice of the illustrations shows the importance of the feminine figures in the construction of the heroic characters. The main teachers of the future heroes are the male figures – fathers, sages and philosophers –, but the teenagers soon meet some female figures, sometimes their lovers and courtesans. These women have a great influence; they help heroes to become good kings, great warriors, or subjects devoted to Islamic faith. But we can also observe that another person plays a main role: the artist – painter, musician, sculptor –, who symbolises a kind of metaphor of the poet and who is beyond the influence of the arts on human destiny. |
