The tomb represents one of the better examples of funerary, chamber-based construction, a new type of burial widespread in the Middle Euphrates Valley starting from the Early Bronze Age. More recent excavations have provided additional information on its architecture, lifespan and social role in the community. Based on the new data, this paper offers an innovative analysis and interpretation of the funerary complex. |
