Abstract :
The task of this paper is to show how logic, mathematics and theoretical physics bring some important epistemological questions that are relevant not only for philosophers but also for theologians. There is no absolute and unique logical framework to ground all our reasoning. There are no absolute and once-for-all foundations for mathematics. Finally, there are probably no really fundamental laws in physics. But this does not mean that the search for a foundation or for a fundamental law is meaningless. It means only that science as such is not able to grasp this absolute foundation, but that it succeeds in pointing towards an absolute that is far away from its scope.
