Abstract :
In the introduction I would like to give an overview over the authors and writings of the so-called Lutheran Nestorians, a movement developed in the Urmia-Region between 1870 and 1941. As far as the current stage of research is concerned, such an overview can only be rudimentary and symptomatic. Yet it is supposed to give an idea of the dimensions of this literature and of its protagonists. A necessarily shorter paragraph mentions the first and quite provisional aspects that could illuminate the position of these texts in or between cultures. The lecture reflects the final stage of a research project dealing with the Lutheran Nestorians.
