Abstract :
The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus, significant by its numerous members, as well as by the theology as it promotes, and by its actions in the socio-economic development, was founded in 1959. It stands, however, following the work of Protestant missionaries active in Ethiopia since the XVIIth century and especially in the XIXth. Its holistic theology and ministry, inspired by the thought of Gudina Tumsa, which support the whole person, lead this Church to face various challenges rich in hopes, as education, health, political engagement.
