Abstract :
One tends to agree with Robert E. van Voorst (Why Is There No Thanksgiving Period in Galatians?, in JBL 121 [2010] 153-172) that the Galatians have not realized the absence of a thanksgiving. But what about Paul who in five of his seven undisputed letters composes a thanksgiving period? Why is there not a thanksgiving in Galatians and also not in 2 Corinthians? The brief analysis of the prescripts of both Galatians and 2 Corinthians demonstrates that Paul feels free to adapt his style to the situation of the addressees and to his personal state of mind.
