This scandal of pedophilia in the Catholic Church has to be recognised as a dysfunction that affects the very heart of the Church. This article analyses the complexity of pedophilia, a complexity related to psychological structures (especially sexual perversion), and to the resistance to recognising the suffering of the victims. It investigates the facts within the Catholic Church and the role of clericalism. By examining the diagnoses of different theologians, it becomes evident that certain main elements come together: too often the Church is both the judge and the accused; it is still taboo to discuss the details of one’s sexual life; and it is very difficult for priests to speak with parishioners whose sexual life is not 'standard'. The article analyses the representation and understanding of the body in certain cultural contexts as well as the status of women. It questions celibacy of the clergy and concludes briefly by looking at the situation in France. Der Missbrauch von Kindern durch den Klerus stellt sowohl einen Verstoß gegen moralische Prinzipien dar als auch – für einen Christen – eine materia gravis (eine schwere Sünde). Der Skandal der Pädophilie in der Katholischen Kirche muss als Ausdruck einer Funktionsstörung angesehen werden, welche die Kirche ins Herz trifft. Der Beitrag analysiert die Komplexität der Pädophilie, die mit psychologischen Strukturen (vor allem bei sexueller Perversion) und der Weigerung, das Leiden der Opfer anzuerkennen, zu tun hat. Der Text betrachtet einige Fakten in der Katholischen Kirche und die Rolle, welche ein Klerikalismus dabei spielt. In der Analyse unterschiedlicher Theologen wird deutlich, dass mehrere zentrale Momente zusammenkommen: Die Kirche ist zu oft zugleich Richter und Angeklagte; es existiert immer noch das Tabu, dass man über das sexuelle Leben nicht näher sprechen darf; und es ist für Priester kaum möglich, mit Gemeindemitgliedern ins Gespräch zu kommen, deren Sexualleben nicht zum 'Standard' gehört. Der Artikel bringt außerdem die Rolle des Körpers in bestimmten kulturellen Kontexten und den Status von Frauen zur Sprache. Es hinterfragt den Zölibat für Priester und schließt mit einem kurzen Blick auf die Situation in Frankreich. |
