En qualifiant la liturgie de «vraie prière de l’Église», Dom L. Beauduin fait comprendre qu’elle est la rencontre avec le Dieu de l’Alliance et qu’elle concerne tous les baptisés. Présenté dans une sous-section du Congrès, l’exposé n’a pas réuni une grande foule d’auditeurs et plusieurs ont dû être surpris de la nouveauté du propos. Il reste que l’assemblée s’est accordée sur deux objectifs essentiels à poursuivre: la diffusion auprès des fidèles du missel en traduction française et néerlandaise, et la priorité à donner à la liturgie de l’Église par rapport aux dévotions. The lecture of this monk and liturgist, which was presented at the Congrès des Œuvres Catholiques in Mechelen, avoided any juridical-rubrical approach. When he qualified the liturgy as 'true prayer of the Church', Dom L. Beauduin made us understand that liturgy is the encounter with the God of the covenant and that it concerns all baptized people. Because the text was presented in a sub-section of the Congress it did not gather a large audience and many would have been surprised at the newness of the lecture. Nevertheless, the assembly reached agreement on the pursuit of two essential objectives: the distribution of the French and Dutch translations of the missal, and that priority should be given to the liturgy of the Church instead of to devotions. |
