Abstract :

Does the cosmos have a meaning? This question cannot be left to scientists alone, even if it is important to take note of their advances in formulating propositions. The scientific vision of the universe has manhandled the traditional hierarchical model transmitted by religions by imposing the idea of continuity between beings. There results a 'cosmic pessimism' where life is explained on the basis what is inert and everything is devoid of finality. Reacting against this kind of reductionism, this article advances considerations which may be capable of re-enchanting the post-Darwinian world.
