Abstract :

This article discusses the first feminist movements in Hungary. The men took advantage of the first associations of Catholic and Jewish women to solve grave problems in the metropolis. And the leading people in the church benefitted from the Christian feminist association. The feminist association established in 1904 devoted itself to many of the social problems in Hungary, but it did not have sufficient influence because a proportion of its members were Jewish and they had to flee from the Hungarian fascist regime. A dialogue between the feminist groups, which would have been most important, did not come about.
