Abstract :
This methodological article engages an embodiment paradigm to access the existential immediacy and indeterminacy of experience in the study of Christian spirituality, by conversing with the work of cultural anthropologist Thomas J. Csordas. The interdisciplinary dialogue is grounded with the example of a historical text of experience rich in descriptions of bodily sensation and perception such as the Showings of Julian of Norwich.
