Abstract :
When someone must take a serious decision about his/her life, but he or she are not free enough for take it, how to proceed? What is the role of the affections in the moment of the choice? The present article intends to study and try to find an answer to those kinds of questions, reading and commenting the difficult experience of election of one of the first Jesuits, Jeronimo Nadal, as he himself shares in a kind of diary named ‘Chronicon Natalis iam inde a principio vocationis suae’. Following his interior conflict, we can understand better the importance of being conscious of our own disorders (in Ignatian terms, ‘affeciones desordenadas’) in the moment of decision-making and the role of the Divine Grace in the whole process of discernment.
