Font sens par exemple les silences de son activité plastique, dans les années de l’après-guerre où il est resté en Roumanie et se consacre aux arts appliqués. Ses collages et dessins récents « de la main gauche » sont superbes. De très nombreuses illustrations, dont beaucoup en couleurs, rendent compte, elles aussi, de sa manière et d’une matière magnifique. In spite of the abundant critical bibliography devoted to Jules Perahim, several of his friends and intimates ─ including Petr Král, Marina Vanci, Francis Hofstein, Sebastian Reichmann and Dan Stanciu─, present the Romanian painter born in 1914, for the first time in terms of his pictorial and political evolution. They make sense for example of the long periods of inactivity immediately following World War II during which he remained in Romania and devoted himself to the applied arts. His collages and recent «left-hand» drawings are superb. The article contains numerous illustrations, many in color, which take into account both his manner and the magnificent materials he uses. |
