Abstract :
Although not totally absent, the experience with married priesthood in the Catholic Church remains restricted to the few cases of priests who have converted to the Catholicism while continuing to exert their priestly functions and to a larger number of priests who belong to the Eastern-Catholic Churches. The author of this essay is a married parish priest of the Greek-Catholic Church in Hungary. In his personal testimony, he provides insights into various aspects of the life of married clergy and their families which shed light on a type of ministry and marital union alike that Western Christianity is widely unfamiliar with.
