Description and analysis of the ritual text entitled “The Great Decree Issued to the Nome of the Silent Land” (P. MMA 35.9.21, columns 1–17), followed by new readings and interpretations of several passages in that work. A number of these are based upon comparative evidence drawn from demotic texts, and the importance of taking such evidence into account when studying hieroglyphic and hieratic religious texts of the Graeco-Roman Period is stressed. |
