Abstract :
Over the centuries the distinction between Maksim’s original works and his translations disappeared. Major translations, such as the Tolkovaja psaltyr’, were kept alive through the transcriptions that were made of it by the Old Believers. In the second half of the nineteenth century scholars began to identify pieces of the Sudaand the Menologionamong the more than 360 works that have been preserved under his name.
