Ce livre, connu également sous les titres de Kitāb al-tanzīl wa l-taḥrīf ou encore Tafsīr al-Sayyārī est très probablement la plus ancienne monographie, parvenue jusqu'à nous, consacrée à la délicate question de la falsification (taḥrīf) du Coran. Il s’agit d’un texte capital non seulement pour une meilleure connaissance du shi’isme des premiers siècles de l’hégire mais aussi pour l’examen de l’histoire de la rédaction et des représentations musulmanes anciennes du Coran. L’étude est composée de cinq parties: 1 — Problématiques posées par les études occidentales concernant l’histoire de la rédaction du Coran. 2 — Informations, hésitations et contradictions des sources islamiques sur le même sujet. 3 — Attitudes imamites à l’égard de la question de la falsification du Coran. 4- Vie et œuvre d’al-Sayyārī. 5- Structure et contenu du Kitāb al-qirā'at. The article is an introduction to the authors' forthcoming critical edition of the Kitāb al-qirā'at by the 3rd/9th-century Shi'i author al-Sayyārī. This book, also known under the titles of Kitāb al-tanzīl wa l-taḥrīf and Tafsīr al-Sayyārī, is in all likelihood the earliest surviving monograph dealing with the delicate question of the falsification (taḥrīf) of the Qur'an. The text is of major importance not only for a better understanding of the Shi‘ism of the first centuries of the hijra but also for a study of the history of the redaction and of early Muslim representations of the Qur'an. The study consists of five parts: 1. Problems raised by Western studies concerning the history of the redaction of the Qur'an. 2. Information, uncertainties and contradictions of the Islamic sources on this subject. 3. Imāmī attitudes towards the question of the falsification of the Qur'an. 4. Life and works of al-Sayyārī. 5. Structure and contents of the Kitāb al-qirā'at. |
