Attestaties van Noord-Nederlandse toponiemen uit de periode vóór 1200 zijn er dan ook slechts met mondjesmaat. Dat we sowieso nog over een redelijke verzameling oude vermeldingen kunnen beschikken, danken we aan het feit dat twee nu in het buitenland gelegen er flink wat bezit hebben gehad en dat hun administratie daarvan grotendeels behouden is gebleven. References to nothern Dutch toponymics from before 1200 are therefore rare. Thanks to the two, now foreign, abbeys who possessed great lots in this region and the keeping of their administration, we do have a decent list of old references. |
