Abstract :

A Hierarchy of Place Names in Dutch and French
In European Toponomics a lot of work has been done on the classification of places names in order to have a view on the diachronic, historical origins. This means researchers try to classify the calling vocabulary which lies at the origin of the toponymics. The synchronic, namely actual, structure and classification of our Place Names is mostly ignored.
