His numerous works, however, that deal with almost the whole encyclopedia of sciences are much less known. Being a physician like his father, Rashīd ad-Dīn showed much interest in Chinese medicine. It is virtually unknown that he became the first who transmitted Chinese medicine to the western world. In the article Rashīd ad-Dīn's unique engagement in Chinese medical literature is stressed. |
