Document Details : Title: Un bilan provisoire sur l'héritage grec du rite arménien Author(s): RENOUX, Charles Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 116 Issue: 1-2 Date: 2003 Pages: 53-69 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.116.1.343 Abstract : Among the Armenian documents — biblical and patristical — of the fifth century, the presence of an important Syriac influence contrasts with the most ancient liturgical Armenian tradition, which is completely dependant on the Greek churches. The liturgical books — lectionary, ritual, hymnary, breviary, calendar — originally depend on Greek books and texts. A Syriac influence appears only belatedly. Are the signs of that last current the remainder of Syriac texts destroyed during the theological controversies of the fifth century? The liturgical tradition of Greek language is predominant in the fifth century. |
