Historians have long taken great interest in the authentic works of Shah Ismail as contained in his formal dīvān collections. However, secondary works attributed to Shah Ismail are also valuable sources, especially concerning the development of Alevi theology and piety. Moreover, through the process of attribution, there may be more of a connection between pseudo and genuine Ḫaṭā’ī (penname of Shah Ismail), as seen through the examination of early examples of these pseudo works. |
