Document Details : Title: Offenbarung als Krisis Subtitle: Bultmanns Interpretation der Eschatologie des Johannesevangeliums Author(s): KÖRTNER, Ulrich H.J. Journal: Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses Volume: 91 Issue: 3 Date: 2015 Pages: 499-520 DOI: 10.2143/ETL.91.3.3105917 Abstract : This paper examines Bultmann’s interpretation of the eschatology of John’s Gospel, with attention to his exegetical and especially theological analysis. The paper’s main goal, however, is not to present Bultmann’s exegesis, but rather his eschatology as a specialized subdiscipline of systematic theology. Thus, after introducing Bultmann’s 1928 article on Johannine eschatology, the paper examines his commentary on the Gospel of John (1941). In a third stage, the paper addresses Bultmann’s later work on Johannine theology in his Theology of the New Testament. The paper concludes with a comment on the reception of Bultmann’s theories in a systematic-theological perspective. |
